📋 Description

• Deliver specific high school social studies course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Support parents/learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel as required for professional development, student testing, and school functions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Appropriate state Department of Education High School (9-12) Social Studies Teaching Certification • If certification is from another state, provide proof of New Mexico license application within 7 days of start date and obtain an approved New Mexico teaching license within 90 days • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday • Ability to travel as required, on average once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time • Experience working with the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children using technology • Experience teaching online/virtually and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with online learning platforms • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations and use them for instructional decisions • Ability to receive regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
