📋 Description

• Serve as teacher of record for special education students • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process for self-contained and ALT students • Address individual student needs defined by each student’s Individual Education Program (IEP) • Monitor progress on IEP goals and maintain service logs and compliance documentation • Collaborate with parents and colleagues on course goals, curriculum, and materials • Create compliant IEPs, progress reports, and state-required special education documentation • Participate in collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Participate in Professional Learning Communities and professional development • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals and objectives • Document parent contacts, teacher collaborations, and student interventions • Use resources to provide accommodations and modifications, including assistive technology and accessible text • Provide special education services and support general education teachers and parents • Ensure inclusion and success in the general education classroom • Maintain grade books, support placement and promotion decisions, and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Maintain positive rapport with families and respond to students and parents in a timely manner • Support learning coaches and parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Support in-person student testing

🎯 Requirements

• Required Certificates and Licenses: Texas Special Education and ESL preferred • Residency requirement: Texas • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written/verbal communication skills • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to support in-person student testing, attend professional development, or other travel as required by the school • Ability to clear required background check • Experience working with self-contained and ALT students in the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology • Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with an online learning platform
