📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance tailored to students' individual needs • Manage the learning process and monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Collaborate with students, parents/learning coaches, and related service staff • Ensure special education and related services are provided according to IEP requirements • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required special education documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Implement accommodations and modifications using assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Adapt Stride K12 lessons and assessments according to students' IEPs • Support inclusion and student success in general education classrooms • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals • Document parent contact and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Maintain the grade book and support academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Communicate regularly with students, learning coaches, and parents • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting • Travel occasionally for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and school functions

🎯 Requirements

• Virginia Special Education Teaching Certificate • Residency strongly preferred in Virginia; candidates in Washington, DC and Maryland may also be considered • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to attend in-person professional development, testing, and other school events • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers • Receptive to regular coaching from administrators • Ability to embrace change and adapt • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written and verbal communication skills
