📋 Description

• Promote student success through a comprehensive school counseling program • Guide students in academic success, social and emotional development, and career and college planning • Help students plan postsecondary options and apply academic achievement strategies • Meet quarterly with students on the caseload to review graduation plans and postsecondary options • Deliver classroom instruction based on student success standards • Review transcripts and academic documentation • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop four-year graduation plans • Audit student schedules for graduation candidacy • Assist with course placement, including Advanced Placement recommendations • Analyze student data and develop data-driven intervention action plans • Provide short-term counseling and referrals for long-term support • Support teachers, staff, and parents • Support standardized testing, parent education, and staff development • Advocate for students at IEP and other student-focused meetings • Focus students and families on goal setting and academic planning • Travel up to 20% for professional development, student testing, or school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Appropriate state Department of Education School Counselor Certification required • Residents of the 50 states and Washington, D.C. • Bachelor's degree • Three (3) years of experience in counseling and/or advisement • School Counselor License • Ability to clear required background check • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based search engines, and database systems • Flexible schedule • Ability to travel as needed • Master’s degree in school counseling • Experience with distance learning • Advanced coursework in counseling and administration • Experience as a teacher • Experience in a customer service environment • Experience with local, state, and federal laws and mandated reporting • Experience in a charter school environment preferred • Experience with state career planning systems, Pathfinder, or other career planning platforms/tools • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
