📋 Description

• Serve as teacher of record for students and provide instruction, support, and guidance • Manage the learning process for self-contained and ALT students according to individual IEP needs • Monitor progress toward goals and maintain service logs • Prepare compliant IEPs, progress reports, and other required special education documentation • Collaborate with parents, colleagues, general education teachers, and learning coaches • Participate in annual IEP meetings, special education meetings, data analysis meetings, and Professional Learning Communities • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Collect data and work samples to monitor IEP goals and objectives • Document parent contacts, collaborations, and student interventions • Ensure accommodations and modifications using assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Provide special education services and support accommodations to promote IEP goal attainment • Ensure inclusion and success in the general education classroom • Maintain the grade book and provide input on placement and promotion decisions • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Maintain positive rapport with families and respond to students and parents in a timely manner • Support parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Support in-person student testing

🎯 Requirements

• Texas residency required • Texas Special Education and ESL certificates/licenses preferred • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions • Receptive to regular coaching from administrators • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written/verbal communication skills • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to support in-person student testing, attend professional development, or other required travel • Ability to clear required background check • Experience working with self-contained and ALT students in the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology • Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with an online learning platform
