📋 Description

• Lead the Data Transformation engineering team • Collaborate with infrastructure and product engineering organizations • Advance the Data Transformation roadmap and adoption at Stripe • Drive critical workstreams delivering high-quality materialized datasets for Stripe products and AI agents • Deliver infrastructure and services that scale reliably and efficiently • Mentor, guide, and support engineers • Support high-visibility infrastructure engineering initiatives and stakeholders • Understand user needs and prioritize engineering work • Oversee projects from planning through delivery while maintaining quality and timeliness • Provide hands-on technical leadership in architecture, design, vision, direction, requirements setting, and incident response • Develop the longer-term Data Transformation roadmap with company leaders • Foster collaboration, inclusion, innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement • Partner with recruiting to attract and hire talent and define hiring strategies

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing teams that shipped and operated data pipelines and critical distributed system infrastructure • Successfully recruited and built great teams • Strong customer focus and commitment to partnerships with other Stripe engineers • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally, think rigorously, communicate effectively, and make or coordinate difficult decisions and trade-offs • Ability to thrive with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility in an ambiguous environment • Technical acumen to drive clarity with staff engineers about architecture and technical strategic decisions • Ability to encourage a healthy and inclusive work environment • Preferred: experience with Kafka, Flink, Spark, Airflow, Python, SQL, and API design • Preferred: strong written and verbal communication skills for different audiences
