📋 Description

• Package software into the supabase/postgres repository using Nix with flakes • Help transition packaging from traditional methods to Nix packaging • Manage OrioleDB release lifecycles, including major, minor, and extension upgrades • Expand platform release systems to enable increased developer self-service • Optimize CI/CD, GitHub Actions, team tooling, and testing/release approaches • Identify and resolve production issues in customer deployments • Maintain best practices and tests to improve stability and reduce deployment risks • Co-own the integration of OrioleDB into the Supabase product • Collaborate with the OrioleDB team on technical decisions and internal methodologies • Mentor the engineering team on using and contributing to Nix-based work

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL and its ecosystem, including extensions and performance optimization • Proven infrastructure management, tooling, and optimization experience • Proficiency in Nix package management, including flakes • Experience with Ansible, Packer, Docker, QEMU/KVM, AWS, and Kubernetes • Experience building for Linux and Darwin/macOS aarch64 targets • Comfort with C/C++, Go, JavaScript, and Rust-based projects • Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences, especially customers • Experience in async or globally distributed teams • Independent, proactive problem-solving • Willingness to mentor engineers on Nix-based work • Experience integrating emerging features into widely used managed hosted product platforms
