📋 Description

• Lead review of monthly and quarterly account reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP • Manage balance sheet account health and resolve reconciling items through root cause analysis and cross-functional coordination • Oversee medium- to high-risk journal entries • Ensure adherence to department goals, metrics, internal audit reports, and SLAs • Translate technical accounting guidance into operational accounting processes • Serve as primary contact for assigned balance sheet accounts and Sysco entity leadership teams • Own month-end task lists and BPC reporting packages for financial consolidation • Lead stakeholder meetings, discuss risks, and develop resolution action plans • Develop, perform, and monitor key-account analytics • Ensure compliance with the Financial & Accounting Methods Manual (FAMM) • Lead internal and external audit requests • Mentor Accounting Analysts, Staff Accountants, and global team members • Lead process improvements and streamline end-to-end processes • Provide financial-data insights, trends, and variance analysis • Support the Accounting Services Director with team management • Complete special projects • Validate financial and supplemental schedules • Manage and resolve escalation issues relating to RTR work processes • Advise internal customers and stakeholders on accounting procedures

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting • 5 years of progressive, related experience • 2 years of supervisory or team-leader experience leading team members • CPA preferred • Leadership skills and ability to effectively manage resources • Problem-solving, team-building, and total quality management skills • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and precedents to resolve diverse issues • Process-improvement mindset focused on automation and eliminating inefficiencies • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP • Ability to monitor and control department expenses, schedules, and progress • Ability to collaborate across Sysco functions and with GPOs • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and specialized accounting/finance software • Experience with ERP systems, such as Workday • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States
