📋 Description

• Draft, review, and negotiate leases and other lease-related documents • Review leasing department document requests and verify inconsistencies • Gather information, research prior negotiated language, and prepare documents • Review tenant comments and requests • Discuss business points with leasing representatives and suggest solutions balancing tenant concerns and Company interests • Negotiate business and legal points with tenants’ legal contacts • Obtain internal approvals for negotiated solutions • Revise documents based on negotiations and management direction • Review executed documents and commence the Company execution process • Provide legal drafting guidance on lease documents drafted by the Senior Paralegal and Associate General Counsel I • Draft and negotiate non-lease-related and lease-management documents • Review legal-document requests from various departments and clarify project scope • Prepare or revise documents addressing departmental and Company legal and business concerns • Collaborate with leasing, department representatives, legal management, and other parties • Manage multiple projects, prioritize workflow, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. from accredited law school • Licensed to practice law in one state • 9+ years of drafting and negotiating retail space leases • Experience drafting and negotiating retail leases in-house with landlord or tenant preferred • Proficient computer skills using company software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office 365, Ultimate Software, Workshare, and DocuSign • Ability to travel via commercial airlines • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and safely operate own vehicle or rental car • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged information • Background check required
