• Develop a design basis by analyzing project requirements, technical specifications, and customer needs • Design electrical systems and calculate component and system ratings to meet client requirements and industry standards, including the National Electrical Code • Size and specify power distribution equipment, including conductors, panelboards, switchboards, transformers, and conduits • Create and review power distribution diagrams and technical drawings using CAD software • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software engineers, project managers, and utility engineers • Provide design recommendations and address client comments • Ensure seamless integration of electrical systems to meet project objectives • Perform detailed calculations, simulations, and testing to verify design performance, reliability, and safety • Specify and select components, equipment, and materials based on project requirements and cost considerations • Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and presentations to stakeholders, clients, and management • Guide and mentor junior engineers • Stay current with electrical engineering industry trends, advancements, and regulations to propose improvements
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field • 7+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, focused on design and development of electrical systems • Proficiency in three-phase power systems equations to determine power distribution ratings and specifications • Experience with energy storage, renewable energy systems, and energy technologies, including photovoltaic energy storage, power distribution, and vehicle charging • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, theories, and methodologies • Proficiency with CAD tools, simulation software such as MATLAB and Simulink, and electrical circuit analysis tools • In-depth understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and standards, including NEC and IEC • Proven track record delivering complex electrical engineering projects from concept to completion • Experience designing and troubleshooting electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation • Proficiency conducting electrical calculations, load analysis, and short-circuit analysis • Familiarity with electrical safety practices and protocols • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration and technical presentations • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance • Ability to travel up to 60% as required • Preferred: Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or eligibility for licensure • Preferred: Master's degree in a related field • Preferred: Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks • Preferred: Previous experience in Energy and Sustainability
