📋 Description

• Manage a team delivering outsourced coding services to critical access hospitals and rural health clinics • Lead accurate and timely coding of medical records • Ensure compliance with coding standards, healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and internal policies • Streamline coding workflows • Hire, retain, and support team development through training and coaching • Perform performance appraisals and pay reviews • Document corrective-action plans when needed • Foster employee engagement and a collaborative, productive team environment • Establish and enforce performance standards • Provide training on coding procedures, regulations, and best practices • Implement new processes and improve existing processes • Conduct regular audits for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines • Ensure correct coding for diagnoses, procedures, and services • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, payer-specific guidelines, and industry coding standards • Monitor coding changes and updates • Resolve coding issues and discrepancies with physicians, providers, billing, and other departments • Serve as the point of contact for complex coding inquiries • Perform other related duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience • CPC, CCA, CCS, CIC or COC certification • Substantial related experience • Prior supervisory experience • Experience with relevant software applications and systems, such as electronic medical record systems • Experience with medical records, claims or billing areas • W2 project-based consultants must provide a computing device adhering to industry standards and security best practices • Ability to be productive, responsive, and reliable in a remote working environment • Ability to maintain high-quality work standards • Ability to establish rapport and credibility with clients and colleagues • Ability to engage employees in a remote work environment • Resilience, adaptability, resourcefulness, and determination
