📋 Description

• Join the team building systems powering Temporal Cloud’s customer experience at scale • Own services supporting Namespaces, Audit Logs, and Export • Lead end-to-end technical design and delivery for namespace scalability, reliability, and customer data products • Partner with analytics and product engineers to create durable event schemas and connect instrumentation to customer insights • Define and evolve high-throughput data pipeline architecture • Balance data freshness, query cost, tenant isolation, and fault tolerance • Establish schema contracts, anomaly detection, and alerting for silent failures • Set quality standards through code and design reviews • Improve maintainability, observability, and incident response through patterns and tooling • Mentor engineers, unblock execution, and foster ownership and learning • Improve customer flows through automation, tooling, and platform improvements • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and solutions architects to design resilient architectures and drive cross-functional execution

🎯 Requirements

• Deep experience designing and delivering production-grade backend systems in cloud environments • Direct ownership of architecture and operational outcomes • Strong proficiency in at least one systems or backend language; Go preferred • Experience navigating large codebases and driving technical decisions • Hands-on experience building and operating distributed systems, including concurrency, reliability, scaling, consistency, and failure handling • Experience with data pipelines and storage systems including Postgres, Redshift, Kafka/Kinesis, S3-compatible storage, and ClickHouse • Track record of ensuring data correctness and traceability at scale • Experience with observability, incident response, performance tuning, on-call readiness, and continuous delivery • Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into executable technical plans • Strong written and verbal communication • Experience writing design documents and explaining complex systems • Builder’s mindset focused on simplifying workflows and improving tooling
