📋 Description

• Provide VPN, DMZ, and firewall network engineering subject matter expertise for the United States Navy’s NMCI network • Perform network modification, operation, integration, maintenance, security, and service implementation • Design, implement, and maintain global network security solutions • Configure enterprise-grade Juniper firewalls • Manage DMZ environments and engineer secure firewall/VPN solutions • Administer Cisco network appliances • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and project management teams to protect network infrastructure • Support Incident Response, Change Management, Problem Management, Operations and Maintenance, ITSM, and DevSecOps initiatives • Collaborate with the NOC, network administrators, and network engineering team to improve network security appliances, automation, best practices, service improvements, system performance, and enhancements • Lead development of network SOPs/TTPs • Create and maintain Engineering Implementation Plans • Plan and execute network upgrades and maintenance activities with operations, NOC, release management, and other stakeholders • Provide Tier III escalation support and engage vendors for Incident Management • Participate in Root Cause Analysis for Problem Management • Serve as a network subject matter expert and provide Tier III support to NOC watch staff • Perform highly technical maintenance and configuration of firewalls, VPNs, and DMZ appliances

🎯 Requirements

• B.S. Degree and 8-12 years of prior relevant experience; work experience may be substituted for degree at Hiring Manager’s discretion • U.S. Citizen • Active DoD Secret security clearance • Active DoD 8570.01 IAT Level III Certification, such as CCNP Security, CISSP, or CASP+ • Active Associate level Network Vendor Certification from Cisco, Juniper, Palo, or F5 Networks • Ability to work or be called in during off-hours to meet customer mission support requirements • Participation in the Transport Operations team on-call rotation • Extensive experience engineering and troubleshooting networks • Experience with routing, switching, MPLS, VPNs, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, Spanning Tree Protocol, VLANs, LLDP, VoIP, multicast protocols, and emerging network technologies • Strong understanding of IP network/subnet addressing • Extensive knowledge of defense-in-depth principles, network architecture, modern network topologies, network appliance integrity, and common networking security elements • Experience with Ansible, Python, and infrastructure-as-code network automation
