• Lead and manage The Helper Bees' Data Engineering & Analytics team • Report to the Vice President of Business Intelligence • Manage and develop Data Engineers and Data Analysts/Business Analysts • Set the team's strategic direction, goals, intake, prioritization, and delivery processes • Design, implement, and maintain data products using Python, SQL, dbt, Airflow, BigQuery, and modern technologies • Move reporting from manual and bespoke SQL to tested, traceable, automated dbt models • Ensure reliable, accurate, governed, and on-time data reports, invoices, and analyses • Lead predictive and prescriptive analytics initiatives, including forecasting, recommendation engines, and clustering/segmentation • Establish validation, monitoring, and governance practices for healthcare machine-learning models • Collaborate with Product, Accounts, Operations, C-suite leaders, external clients, and partners • Monitor team performance through feedback, code reviews, and training • Set and enforce coding, quality, scalability, and maintainability standards • Improve deployment, sprint planning, monitoring, incident response, escalation, and workflow processes • Drive adoption of AI-assisted development and analytics tools such as Cursor and Claude Code • Debug complex issues across data pipelines and models • Own the data team's contribution to monthly close and scorecard processes, including client and partner reports and invoices • Surface exceptions proactively and measure improvements in reliability, efficiency, and productivity • Oversee data quality, reporting timeliness, technical leadership, code quality, innovation, stakeholder satisfaction, scalability, and optimization
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or a related data discipline, with increasing scope and responsibility • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or in a highly technical data role • 2+ years of direct people-leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and driving team execution • Proven experience crafting, communicating, and promoting strategic direction for a data team • Strong leadership, team management, change management, stakeholder influence, data analysis, and presentation skills • Experience building and improving data warehouses and modern data pipelines • Extensive SQL and data engineering experience, including ETL/ELT solutions • BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, and Python required • Experience with Tableau, Salesforce data, and Azure/Synapse a plus; PostgreSQL and Power BI nice-to-have • Experience owning an intake and prioritization process, such as Jira • Working knowledge of machine learning and data science, including forecasting/time-series methods, recommendation engines, and clustering/segmentation • Python ecosystem experience such as pandas and scikit-learn • Hands-on ML experience and production model deployment/monitoring strongly preferred • Familiarity with or willingness to drive AI-assisted development and analytics tooling • Experience managing or transitioning work from external consultants/vendors a plus • Experience handling sensitive data responsibly; HIPAA/PHI familiarity strongly preferred • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Must be 18 years of age or older • Demonstrated experience leading complex data initiatives from strategy through delivery, including migrations or platform transitions • Predictive/prescriptive analytics or machine-learning model delivery experience preferred • Reliable internet connection and designated work environment conducive to professional phone calls and sensitive data • Ability to remain at a designated workstation for the duration of the workday • Ability to operate a computer and office productivity machinery • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information • Ability to observe details at close range
