📋 Description

• Install sophisticated analytical and scientific equipment on site • Follow testing procedures to ensure accurate working order • Conduct scheduled planned maintenance visits on site • Diagnose and repair complex equipment for customers and field personnel • Cultivate positive working relationships with customers, system users, and company personnel • Travel, often on short notice, to customer sites and support other field service personnel • Complete and submit field service reports • Train customers and users on system maintenance • Provide feedback to product quality teams • Update and correct Thermo Fisher system documentation • Provide guidance for reports, including identifying and isolating outstanding system problems • Act as a subject expert and resource for training • Service Scanning Electron Microscopes, Transmission Electron Microscopes, and Focused Ion Beam systems across research, industrial, and healthcare settings

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of hands-on technical experience in electronic systems, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating sophisticated analysis tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB, or similar systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience • Detailed understanding and extensive experience diagnosing and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems, or similar systems • Ability to deal effectively with customers • Excellent interpersonal communication skills • Professional working proficiency in English • Consistent record of fixing sophisticated systems and subsystems down to the component level • Literacy in MS DOS and Windows software environments • Ability to read and interpret schematics • Familiarity with UHV phenomenon and technology • Ability to acquire a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required • Valid driver's license • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance • Ability to use required PPE, including safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, and ear plugs
