• Ensure sophisticated scientific instruments operate at peak performance • Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific while delivering exceptional technical service • Build strong relationships with customers advancing critical research and innovation • Install, maintain, and repair high-value analytical instruments, including electron microscopes and chromatography systems • Diagnose and solve complex technical problems • Help customers achieve breakthrough discoveries that make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer • Travel throughout the NYC territory and respond to emergency service calls as needed
• Bachelor's Degree; no prior experience required • Preferred fields of study: Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Biomedical) or related scientific field • Strong electronics and mechanical aptitude, with ability to diagnose issues down to component level • Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor • Strong verbal and written communication abilities • Fluency in English required; additional language skills welcome • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and analytical thinking • Proficiency with Windows operating systems, MS Office, and service management software • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and documentation • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50–75% • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods • Availability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency service calls • Must be able to obtain necessary credentials to access customer facilities • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively • Collaborative mindset with ability to work independently • Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing sophisticated analytical instruments preferred • Experience with ultra-high vacuum systems and high voltage equipment preferred • Advanced degrees or specialized certifications are a plus
