📋 Description

• Conduct on-site installation of sophisticated equipment and follow testing procedures to ensure accurate working order • Conduct on-site scheduled planned maintenance visits • Provide diagnosis and repair support for customers and other field personnel • Cultivate positive working relationships with customers, system users, and company personnel • Travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnel • Complete and submit field service reports • Provide training to customers and users on system maintenance • Provide feedback to product quality teams • Update and correct Thermo Fisher system documentation • Provide guidance for reports, including identifying and isolating outstanding system problems • Act as a subject expert and resource for training • Support customers across the Southwest Region territory, primarily Albuquerque, New Mexico, including California, Arizona, Colorado, and Oregon

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • 3+ years of hands-on technical experience in electronic systems, including installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating sophisticated analysis tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB, or similar systems • Detailed understanding and extensive experience diagnosing and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems, or similar systems • Ability to deal effectively with customers • Excellent interpersonal communication skills • Professional working proficiency in English • Consistent record of fixing sophisticated systems and subsystems down to the component level • Literacy in MS-DOS and Windows software environments • Ability to read and interpret schematics • Familiarity with UHV phenomena and technology • Ability to acquire a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required • Valid driver's license • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • Ability to work with required PPE, including safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, and ear plugs as applicable
