📋 Description

• Lead the integrity, consistency, and execution of the monthly accounting close process across NVK & CSI • Own and manage the monthly close calendar • Oversee execution of the month-end close checklist • Coordinate with accounting support teams to resolve close issues before financial finalization • Ensure proper cutoff and accrual accounting for payroll, subsidies, CACFP, rent, insurance, and recurring operating expenses • Prepare, review, and approve monthly accruals and journal entries • Maintain consistency in accrual methodology and accounting treatment • Document assumptions and maintain organized support schedules • Prepare and analyze monthly financial variances • Identify operational drivers, accounting issues, and one-time items impacting performance • Partner with the CFO to provide actionable financial insights for leadership and ownership groups • Prepare and/or review reconciliations • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and properly documented • Identify and escalate accounting risks or discrepancies • Maintain audit-ready documentation throughout the year • Support revenue recognition, payroll, accruals, and significant transaction documentation • Serve as a primary accounting contact for external auditors and tax advisors • Assist in developing and documenting accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls • Utilize NetSuite as the primary system of record • Review account mappings, reporting structure, and chart of accounts consistency • Identify and implement process improvements that improve close efficiency, reporting accuracy, and scalability • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment aligned with NVK's Core Values

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance • MBA or Masters degree in Finance preferred • 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in multi-entity environments • Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager experience strongly preferred • Public accounting background preferred • Experience working with remote leadership teams and offshore accounting support preferred • Multi-location, franchise, childcare, healthcare, hospitality, or service-based business experience is a plus • NetSuite • Strong accrual accounting and month-end close expertise • Working knowledge of US GAAP, audits, and financial controls • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills • Comfortable leveraging technology, automation, and AI-based tools to improve efficiency
