📋 Description

• Develop and implement SEIA policies and positions in Colorado, Nevada, and Arizona • Monitor policy activity in New Mexico and Utah as needed • Oversee regulatory and legislative activity in priority Intermountain West states • Draft regulatory filings • Manage the SEIA Intermountain West Committee and its day-to-day activities • Facilitate regular calls and meetings with SEIA members • Participate in legislative and lobbying initiatives • Work with outside counsel, contract lobbyists, and technical consultants as needed • Collaborate with local and regional trade associations, SEIA state affiliates, stakeholders, parties, and consultants • Develop content for, moderate, and participate on panels at national and regional conferences and trade shows • Manage the region budget • Report to the Vice President of State Affairs • Work closely with the Senior Vice President of Policy and other SEIA departments, including Regulatory Affairs, Research, Communications, and Membership

🎯 Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree is required • 4–8 years of experience in solar, energy, advocacy, or related fields • Experience with regulatory and legislative processes in the Intermountain West region • Regulatory experience in the region preferred • Legislative experience is a plus • Demonstrated experience in electricity, utility, renewables, or generation sectors preferred • Familiarity with energy policy and/or markets • Familiarity with enabling technologies such as storage, demand response, distribution management systems, and electrification • Familiarity with rate design, interconnection, integrated resource planning, grid modernization policies, and renewable energy program design highly desirable • Ability to travel, primarily in-region • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Ability to manage challenging and diverse views of member companies • Ability to work independently and remotely • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build consensus • Successful candidate should be based in the Intermountain West region, preferably the Denver, Las Vegas, or Phoenix metro areas • Ability to work in a remote office environment suitably equipped with internet and telephone access • Must be authorized to work in the United States; SEIA is an E-Verify employer
