• Partner with engineering leads across the technical loop, mechanical loop, and electrical/power to ensure multi-generational system roadmaps reflect and deliver sustainable data center designs • Serve as an internal expert on sustainable data center designs, reflecting a strong understanding of current and future technologies to drive sustainability • Develop sustainability standards for all system reference designs, including metrics for PUE, Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE), carbon footprint, and sound levels (dB) • Lead efforts for quantifying benefits around sustainable data centers and Trane Technologies system architecture reference designs • Develop and manage system-level Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) in close partnership with our enterprise sustainable team • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to drive a roadmap for improving the sustainability performance of our solutions • Provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing • Engage with regulatory bodies and industry forums to represent Trane Technologies’ voice on data center sustainability
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field • Minimum of 7-10 years of engineering experience, with strong focus on sustainable designs across mission critical facilities and data centers • Experience in sustainable building design, energy modeling, or life cycle assessment • Deep knowledge of data center sustainability metrics (PUE, WUE, CUE) • Familiarity with environmental regulations and green building certifications • Passion for driving sustainability and a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams • Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment serving mission critical customers
