📋 Description

• Own performance tuning on the StarRocks serving layer using AI-assisted query profiling • Build and harden data pipelines feeding government cloud investigations • Become a second independent operator of the GovCloud serving layer to reduce single-point-of-failure risk • Triage production issues using AI-assisted debugging and log analysis • Operate and troubleshoot regulated, high-availability government cloud data infrastructure • Collaborate with Forward Deployed Engineering, Product, and the broader Data Platform organization • Participate in weekly incident and infrastructure reviews, async updates, sprint planning, and post-incident retrospectives • Maintain parity between the government cloud environment and commercial platform • Develop backups, restore pipelines, compliance configurations, and operational runbooks

🎯 Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required due to government cloud data access requirements • Hands-on experience operating distributed OLAP or serving-layer systems such as StarRocks, Trino, ClickHouse, or similar • Experience with query tuning and performance optimization at scale • Experience owning data pipeline reliability and incident response • Comfort using AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or similar for debugging, code review, and documentation • Ability to independently take ownership of unfamiliar production infrastructure • Ability to use AI-assisted research and code exploration to ramp quickly • Willingness and ability to take on-call responsibility with minimal oversight • Applied AI fluency is evaluated during the interview process
