📋 Description

• Own performance tuning on the StarRocks serving layer using AI-assisted query profiling • Build and harden data pipelines supporting government cloud investigations • Become a second engineer able to independently operate and troubleshoot the serving layer • Reduce single-point-of-failure risk and incident response time on GovCloud data infrastructure • Use AI-assisted debugging and log analysis to triage production issues and identify root causes • Participate in on-call responsibility • Review incidents, infrastructure work, and compliance milestones in weekly team syncs • Provide async daily updates on pipeline health, tickets, and blockers • Plan work in sprint-based cycles with clear ownership • Conduct post-incident retrospectives and adjust runbooks • Collaborate with Forward Deployed Engineering, Product, and the broader Data Platform organization • Maintain parity between the government cloud environment and commercial platform

🎯 Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required due to government cloud data access requirements • Hands-on experience operating distributed OLAP or serving-layer systems such as StarRocks, Trino, ClickHouse, or similar • Experience with query tuning and performance optimization at scale • Experience owning data pipeline reliability and incident response • Comfort using AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or similar for debugging, code review, and documentation • Ability to independently take ownership of unfamiliar production infrastructure and ramp quickly using AI-assisted research and code exploration • Ability to take on-call responsibility with minimal oversight • High level of ownership, adaptability, collaboration, and creative problem-solving • Applied AI fluency is evaluated during the interview process
