📋 Description

• Help design, build, and operate services and automations supporting Kubernetes clusters at scale under senior engineer guidance • Work with product management and technical leadership to turn well-scoped tasks into working code • Participate in code reviews and follow established coding, testing, unit testing, and integration testing standards • Support AWS and Azure cloud configurations using Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code • Maintain observability coverage, including metrics, alerts, and basic distributed tracing, across core data pipelines • Identify and flag technical debt, bugs, and small-scale system issues • Participate in sprint planning and seek feedback and mentorship from senior engineers • Share knowledge with peers while developing toward a more senior role • Build and operate backend services at scale for systems processing billions of emails • Use Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, Azure, and AI-assisted tooling to maintain distributed systems under production load

🎯 Requirements

• 1–2+ years of professional software engineering experience • Experience building or operating backend services using Kubernetes • Familiarity with Kubernetes operations, including deployments, pods, and services • Practical experience with, or strong desire to learn, AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code • Exposure to GitOps workflows such as ArgoCD and CI/CD pipelines such as Harness or equivalent • Working knowledge of at least one of Shell, Terraform, YAML, or Go (Golang) • Willingness to build proficiency across Shell, Terraform, YAML, and Go • Some cloud-environment experience, ideally AWS core services such as EC2, S3, and EKS, or Azure equivalents such as Virtual Machines, Blob Storage, and AKS • General familiarity with VPC/VNet networking basics is a plus • Basic familiarity with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools • Foundational understanding of distributed datastores, caching layers, or asynchronous event streaming such as Kafka • Solid computer science fundamentals and data structures knowledge • Eagerness to learn self-healing cloud architectures • Role is remote in the United States but not eligible for hiring in California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or Washington • Ability to travel occasionally for project or team in-person meetings
