📋 Description

• Provide clinical care and clerical support under the direction of an appropriate licensed clinician • Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs • Collect and document patient health status, history, and progress • Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests • Prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections within scope of practice • Assist with physical examinations and clinical procedures • Review laboratory results and promptly report abnormal results • Communicate observations and patient changes to licensed clinicians • Prepare, maintain, clean, and sterilize patient rooms, instruments, scopes, and equipment • Assist with patient movement, admissions, transfers, and discharges • Schedule appointments and perform clerical duties including typing, filing, correspondence, phone handling, and medical-record documentation • Maintain clinical supplies, inventory, logs, charts, and medical records • Process prescriptions and refills • Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, prior authorizations, pre-certifications, and referrals • Collect patient co-payments and maintain records

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from the American Heart Association; if unavailable upon hire, must be obtained within 3 months of hire • Medical Assistant credential approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health (ARMA, NHA, etc.) • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute where certification, licensure, or registration is not required • Ability to perform clinical and clerical duties within scope of practice • Ability to perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests • Ability to prepare and administer non-intravenous injections as directed or required • Ability to handle, move, lift, position, and transport patients safely
