📋 Description

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs • Collect and document patient health status, history, and progress • Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care tests • Prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections within scope of practice • Assist with physical examinations and clinical procedures • Review laboratory results and promptly report abnormal results • Communicate patient observations and changes to licensed clinicians • Prepare, maintain, clean, sterilize, and repackage patient equipment and instruments • Assist with moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients • Follow patient arrival and appointment-scheduling procedures • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges • Maintain clinical supplies, inventory, logs, charts, and medical records • Process prescriptions and refills • Perform clerical duties including typing, filing, scheduling, letter and form preparation, and phone calls • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility and coordinate prior authorizations and referrals • Collect patient co-payments and maintain records

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from the American Heart Association; if unavailable upon hire, must be obtained within 3 months of hire • Medical Assistant credential approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health (ARMA, NHA, etc.) • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted where certification, licensure, or registration is not required • Ability to perform clinical, clerical, patient-care, phlebotomy, EKG, point-of-care testing, injection, sterilization, medical-record, insurance-verification, and scheduling duties
