USACS is the Undergraduate Student Alliance of Computer Scientists at Rutgers University that organizes events and runs collaborative spaces for computer science students. It maintains resources such as the Coding and Social Lounge (CSL), a Linux-station Command Center, a Hackerspace with 3D printers, robotics, and Oculus Rifts, and a Makerspace for hands-on hardware projects. USACS helps students get involved outside the classroom through workshops, social events, and access to tools and facilities for building hardware and software projects.

📋 Description

• Research and resolve outstanding insurance or contract claims to maximize cash collections and minimize denials and lost revenue • Work on individual and project denial and claim assignments • Resolve claim edits and denials • Maintain worklists and assignments at acceptable levels based on performance targets, KPIs, and quality scores • Conduct insurance or contract follow-up, including interfacing with payers and communicating with internal and external business partners by phone and web-based tools • Escalate items promptly • Identify opportunities to improve department workflows and cross-functional processes • Contribute to company-wide payer matrices and maintain Standard Operating Procedures • Participate actively in team meetings • Maintain knowledge of current government and carrier regulations relevant to the industry • Model the organization's core values • Perform and assist with other department duties as needed

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent • Experience in medical insurance or billing, or equivalent training or education, is helpful but not required • Knowledge of personal computers in a Windows environment • Basic word processing and spreadsheet data-entry skills • Knowledge of medical insurance and terminology • Basic knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively to a team • Close attention to detail • Ability to identify, research, and solve problems and discrepancies • Courteous and professional communication • Ability to maintain confidentiality • Organized processing of assigned duties • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations • Ability to work effectively in a multitask environment • Ability to work overtime when needed • Ability to work effectively in remote settings
