📋 Description

• Contact insurance companies for status updates on outstanding claims • Process and follow up on appeals to insurance companies • Refile claims as needed • Work correspondence daily • Use spreadsheets at a basic proficiency level • Audit adjustment requests and complete them when appropriate • Resolve Manual Tasks assigned to Accounts Receivable for follow-up • Work outstanding accounts receivable from assigned work queues • Meet department productivity standards • Maintain an accuracy rating of 97% or greater on audited accounts • Maintain strict confidentiality • Become an SME across multiple workflows and various payers • Identify and communicate trends to leadership • Provide peer payer and system training support • Gather data and report it in partnership with leadership • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred • 1–3 years professional/healthcare experience preferred • 3+ years Accounts Receivable experience preferred • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Basic math skills for calculating anesthesia units, proper reimbursement, and percentages for adjustments • Understanding of medical terminology • Advanced knowledge of insurance processing, guidelines, laws, and EOBs • Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines • High-accuracy data entry skills • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and ASA codes • Problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills • Skill in gathering and reporting information • Ability to work effectively with staff, physicians, and external customers • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with limited supervision • Self-motivated and goal-oriented • Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Teams • Ability to communicate well with the public • Ability to meet the role’s physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation
