📋 Description

• Design, review, and support industrial refrigeration systems using ammonia, CO2, and Freon refrigerants • Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and system documentation • Evaluate system performance and recommend safety, reliability, and efficiency improvements • Provide troubleshooting and root cause analysis support • Partner with Design and Construction to establish company design standards • Support PSM, RMP, PHAs, MOCs, mechanical integrity programs, compliance audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions • Provide engineering support for refrigeration capital projects, expansions, retrofits, commissioning, startup, and system acceptance • Review contractor and consultant designs and provide technical input on equipment selection and vendor evaluation • Develop maintenance strategies, SOPs, and operating procedures with Facilities and Maintenance teams • Provide field engineering support during outages, repairs, and emergency events • Support contractor oversight and safe execution of technical work • Analyze system performance to identify reliability risks, capacity constraints, and energy optimization opportunities • Support lifecycle asset planning, condition assessments, replacement recommendations, modernization, and automation • Maintain P&IDs, equipment files, calculations, and technical documentation • Contribute to enterprise knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives • Collaborate with Operations, Facilities, Maintenance, EHS, Asset Management, Capital Engineering, contractors, OEMs, suppliers, regulators, auditors, and consultants

🎯 Requirements

• 5 years of experience in industrial refrigeration • Hands-on experience with ammonia (NH₃) refrigeration systems • Working knowledge of Freon-based systems • Expertise in industrial ammonia and Freon refrigeration engineering, refrigeration thermodynamics, and mechanical system design • Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP) compliance requirements • Experience with system troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and operational problem-solving in industrial refrigeration environments • Experience supporting capital projects, upgrades, expansions, commissioning, and equipment optimization • Proficiency interpreting and developing P&IDs, technical specifications, and engineering documentation • Understanding of asset reliability, preventive maintenance strategies, and energy optimization • Familiarity with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP requirements • Ability to travel to operating sites as needed • Approximately more than 25% travel during the initial years • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) • Working knowledge of IIAR and ASHRAE guidelines • EPA Section 608 Certification • Experience with food distribution, cold storage, manufacturing, or logistics environments preferred • Experience supporting multi-site operations preferred • Experience with AutoCAD verification and updating preferred
