📋 Description

• Manage site-based execution of medium to large projects ranging from $50M–$100M • Develop challenging site-based project plans, including commissioning and integration, and lead complete on-site execution • Manage the P&L and budget for all site-related costs • Manage site-based contracts involving high project risk and complex installed equipment • Understand contracts and mitigate related risks • Avoid and handle claims when necessary • Manage quality, time, costs, and information provision • Report and escalate nonconformities to the customer and project manager • Mobilize the complete site-based organization and connect it with the internal organization • Negotiate with customers and subcontractors and manage contract issues professionally • Manage stakeholders at all levels, including senior management inside and outside Vanderlande • Take ownership of site-related challenges • Manage high-quality execution of the installation process according to the Vanderlande process map • Create, implement, and secure the site safety plan • Organize all HSE-related activities on site • Communicate with customers about progress, out-of-scope work, and site-related issues • Travel 80%–90% for project work

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a position of managing complex projects and systems • Leadership capability to create a unified and motivated project team • Proven track record in on-site management of larger/complex installations with high level of automation • Ability to manage a team of mechanical and electrical supervisors • Sound knowledge of contract law • Experience serving as an on-site representative while building relationships with clients • Ability to obtain required security clearances to work in Vanderlande project sites • Valid passport in the event international travel is required • Must have valid driver's license • Willingness to travel up to 80%–90% domestically • Four-year college degree in a technical field (preferred) • Material handling system experience (preferred) • OSHA Certification (preferred) • Demonstrable leadership skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • International and multicultural awareness • Resource planning and site organization • Safety awareness at the project manager's level • Analytical and strategic ability • Proactive and decisive • Ability to talk and hear regularly, occasionally lift materials up to 50 pounds, and bend at the knees to inspect pallets or read packing lists
