📋 Description

• Define and evolve Vanta’s visual design language across product surfaces • Set a high bar for visual craft across typography, color, layout, iconography, illustration, motion, data visualization, and interaction details • Partner with Design Systems, Product, Engineering, Research, Content Design, and Brand teams on system-level solutions • Own and evolve design tokens, component visual states, responsive behavior, theming, density, and platform-specific adaptations • Create reusable patterns and guidance for consistent product-team execution • Design and prototype system components and end-to-end product experiences • Bring visual clarity and hierarchy to complex, data-rich security and compliance workflows • Collaborate with engineers on fidelity, accessibility, performance, and maintainability • Establish principles, standards, and review practices for product design quality • Advocate for inclusive and accessible visual design • Define design-system support for AI-powered experiences, personalization, automation, and enterprise workflows • Use customer insights, product data, usability feedback, and competitive research to improve the system • Facilitate critiques, workshops, and cross-functional reviews • Influence product strategy and roadmap decisions through design perspectives, narratives, prototypes, and point of view • Mentor product designers and contribute to design-craft culture • Create documentation, examples, and enablement materials • Define and measure design-system impact through adoption, consistency, accessibility, usability, delivery efficiency, and customer outcomes • Represent Design Systems in planning, product reviews, and cross-functional forums • Share best practices and improve Vanta’s visual product quality

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing digital products, with significant experience in visual product design for complex B2B SaaS or enterprise software • Deep expertise in visual design for digital products, including typography, color, composition, layout, iconography, illustration, motion, interaction states, and data visualization • Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft, thoughtful systems thinking, and ability to improve product experiences at component and end-to-end workflow levels • Experience creating, evolving, and scaling product design systems used by multiple teams • Strong understanding of design tokens, component architecture, responsive design, accessibility, and relationship between design tools and front-end implementation • Track record of turning ambiguous product and customer problems into clear, elegant, reusable visual solutions • Experience partnering closely with engineers to bring detailed visual designs to life and make pragmatic implementation decisions • Strong product thinking across customer needs, business goals, technical constraints, product surfaces, and workflows • Excellent communication, storytelling, and facilitation skills; ability to influence without formal authority • Experience balancing consistency and flexibility in design systems • Ability to give and receive thoughtful feedback, mentor others, and raise quality standards • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and balancing strategic thinking with bias for action • Experience in cybersecurity, compliance, GRC, IT, infrastructure, financial services, or another complex and regulated domain is a plus • Experience with Figma and familiarity with front-end technologies or design system implementation workflows is a plus • Commitment to Vanta’s principles • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, or related field • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship • Responsible for protecting Vanta and customer data • Open to using AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact
