📋 Description

• Lead complex technical implementations, shaping performant, maintainable, and reusable data architectures and transformation pipelines • Drive adoption of dbt development, testing, and CI/CD best practices • Mentor peers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance • Contribute to internal tooling, shared dbt packages, and scalable analytics engineering frameworks • Partner with analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into data models and semantic layers • Advise on cross-functional planning while balancing stakeholder requirements, data governance, and scalability • Lead end-to-end analytics engineering workstreams aligned with client objectives • Address systemic data quality and modeling issues with durable solutions • Optimize performance, reduce technical debt, and contribute to scalable shared standards

🎯 Requirements

• Programming languages such as SQL and Python • Business intelligence platforms such as PowerBI and Sigma • Expert proficiency in dbt is required • Expert proficiency in data modeling approaches and philosophies such as Kimball and OBT • Expert proficiency with at least one cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake or BigQuery • Expert proficiency with version control and Git • Knowledge of common data integration patterns such as CDC and ELT • Knowledge of common data integration/orchestration platforms such as Fivetran, Dagster, and Apache Airflow • Professional proficiency in English, verbally and in writing • Frequent sitting at a desk performing work on a computer • Velir does not sponsor candidates and cannot accept those on OPT or CPT
