📋 Description

• Own architecture, implementation, reliability, and lifecycle management of Veradigm’s database platform across multiple engines and cloud providers • Design database systems end-to-end, including engine and deployment-model selection, server and storage architecture, multi-cloud infrastructure, and high-availability and disaster-recovery posture • Own 24×7 production reliability and serve as the final escalation point for major outages, complex performance incidents, and cross-team database issues • Determine database architecture for new business use cases, including engine selection, deployment model, topology, sizing, integration patterns, and availability targets up to 99.99% • Design and implement multi-cloud database infrastructure across AWS and Azure • Author and review Terraform infrastructure-as-code for provisioning, configuration management, and lifecycle automation • Oversee database security, integrity, and performance, including access controls, encryption, audit logging, HIPAA-aligned PHI protection, vulnerability management, and integrity validation • Implement monitoring, observability, and alerting across database systems and cloud platforms • Lead complex performance triage and database 911 response across product engineering teams • Provide technical leadership for peers and delegate tasks for major and minor projects • Independently implement and document enhancement requests • Review and approve technical design specifications • Design, audit, and test high-availability and disaster-recovery architectures, including failover, replication, RPO/RTO planning, backups, point-in-time recovery, and restore drills • Own concurrent database platform projects from concept to completion, including requirements, architecture, implementation, scheduling, deployment, testing, and handoff • Serve as subject matter expert across database technologies, AWS, Azure, managed PaaS, and self-managed IaaS deployments • Set technical direction for AI-augmented database operations, including LLM-assisted design, ML-driven anomaly detection, automated performance tuning, and natural-language operational tooling • Work standard hours or assignment-defined hours; support on-call and after-hours work during peak periods • Travel up to 10% as required

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Technical / Business experience • 10+ years relevant work experience; 2-3 years at the Expert level or equivalent experience - Preferred • Expert knowledge of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Snowflake • Expert knowledge of database performance monitoring, tuning, and triage • Expert knowledge of T-SQL, PowerShell, Python, Bash, and Terraform • Expert knowledge of multi-cloud database engineering across AWS and Azure • Expert knowledge of database server, storage, and network architecture • Expert knowledge of high-availability and disaster-recovery architectures supporting 99.99% availability • Knowledge of change management principles • Expert knowledge of project management • Ability to collaborate with teams and receive constructive feedback • Ability to provide partnership and consultation to product and engineering teams • Up to 10% travel may be required • May require after-hours, on-call support and/or holidays • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada • Visa sponsorship is not offered • Preferred certifications: ITIL Foundations; MTA Database Fundamentals; MCSA Database Administrator; Azure Fundamentals; Azure Data Fundamentals; Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer Associate
