📋 Description

• Support the Patient Services department and facilitate the infusion admission process • Ensure thorough and accurate processing of referrals and updated orders, including insurance eligibility and benefits verifications, prior approvals, and data entry • Review and maintain patient eligibility, current financial documents, and prior approval renewals before appointments • Prioritize, organize, and delegate tasks to Patient Access Specialists • Complete quality assurance audits and reviews • Train new and existing employees, including onboarding and refresher sessions • Handle escalations, concerns, and calls • Serve as a subject matter expert in Patient Access functions, systems, resources, tools, and procedures • Assist with Patient Access functions and Patient Services workload as business demands require • Maintain working knowledge of insurance contracts, exclusions, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes, and drug copay assistance requirements • Uphold HIPAA guidelines • Generate, manipulate, and maintain Excel spreadsheets and data-management reports • Communicate with insurers, referring offices, patients, internal staff, and clinical staff • Coordinate with Patient Navigator, Medical Records Review, and Patient Resources teams regarding patient accounts, referrals, documentation, insurance, financial documents, and prior approvals • Monitor team workload and productivity • Run daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports, including schedule review and authorization tracking reports • Assist leadership with process changes, coverage, and guideline updates • Coordinate workload coverage to ensure timely handling of referrals and orders • Identify and escalate team performance issues and provide peer feedback as directed • Participate in and co-present on weekly calls • Assist with claim projects, patient data audits, acquisition assistance, month-end activities, and other projects • Maintain patient records and confidentiality in the electronic Medical Record System • Attend necessary department meetings and perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of related prior work experience required, preferably in admission, scheduling, and medical insurance within healthcare • 3+ years working in high-volume insurance verification, benefits, eligibility, and authorizations • 2 years of medical billing and authorizations or managing physician referrals • 1 year in a customer service or patient-facing role • High school graduate or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred • Proven competencies can take precedence over prior work experience • Intermediate proficiency with all Microsoft Office products • Advanced knowledge of insurance, accounting, medical billing, HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, medical abbreviations, and terminology • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills • Fluent in written and spoken English • Experience supporting multiple managers/supervisors • Prior experience handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily • Must reside in one of the listed states at the time of employment • Proof of eligibility to work in the US • Travel is minimal but can be up to 10%
