📋 Description

• Address complex design challenges, including actuator performance optimization, specialized igniters, pressure vessels, solid rocket motor systems, hot gas valves, and rocket thrusters • Generate complex actuator designs and conduct performance analysis • Perform trade-off analysis and integrate multidisciplinary considerations for design optimization • Create advanced 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings • Interpret GD&T symbols and provide dimensional and tolerance guidance • Characterize ceramic, insulator, refractory metal, and advanced metal materials • Conduct simulations, structural, dynamic, thermal, and tolerance analyses • Support additive manufacturing, mechanical assembly, composite layups, machining, molding, casting, welding, and NDT quality checks • Develop test plans, operate measurement instruments, perform calibrations, collect and analyze test data, and handle energetics • Conduct mass analysis, requirements analysis, risk management, failure-mode analysis, and reliability and safety activities • Lead small teams, manage procurement and vendors, and support contract management • Analyze solid rocket motor ballistics, propellant chemistry, combustion, grain geometry, and performance • Design basic control systems and contribute to avionics, ignition, battery, harness, circuit board, and software design tasks

🎯 Requirements

• Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance • Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of mechanical engineering experience • Bachelor of Science required in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations under ITAR • Positive, cooperative, self-motivated, and professional behavior • Contribute as necessary to get the job done • Rocket motor design and testing experience • Must be able to travel approximately 10% of the time • Master of Science in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree
