Weave is building a generative AI platform and knowledge graph that will revolutionize how life science companies collaborate.

📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Golang microservices • Drive technical architecture and anticipate scaling and maintenance needs • Collaborate with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver high-impact features • Participate in system design reviews and contribute to engineering strategy • Own code quality, reliability, and observability from development through production • Plan and execute projects from inception to delivery • Mentor peers and junior engineers • Participate in on-call rotation and escalation, supporting critical incidents • Establish operational excellence standards, including SLAs/SLOs, monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes • Work on Weave’s payments platform, which supports healthcare practices with scheduling, payments, communication, and reviews

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with modern programming languages such as Golang, Java, Python, Ruby, or C# • Golang preferred or willingness to learn • Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services • Strong understanding of distributed systems and inter-service communication, including protobufs/gRPC, REST, Kafka, and Redis • Experience with relational databases and SQL • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and take responsibility for production systems • Experience deploying and maintaining services in cloud environments, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP) • Comfort with Docker/Kubernetes, observability tooling, metrics, alerts, tracing, and service reliability • Experience with protobufs/gRPC or Temporal • Experience breaking monoliths into microservices • Successful completion of a background check • Current U.S. work authorization status is requested in the application
