📋 Description

• Assess patient needs within a telemedicine care setting • Triage patients and differentiate patient needs • Evaluate patients in a timely manner, prioritizing patient care • Perform thorough histories and physical exams • Create individualized, evidence-based plans of care • Consult the on-call WellNow physician and radiologist when appropriate • Manage payers across the spectrum of services provided • Order laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies according to evidence-based standards • Use evidence-based resources for treatment options • Order and prescribe appropriate medications • Consult and refer patients to primary care and specialty physicians • Perform procedures appropriate to the services provided and standard of care • Educate patients regarding disease processes and discharge plans • Maintain patient confidentiality • Complete CME requirements for the specialty • Attend peer review and education update meetings • Educate other staff members • Communicate with clinical staff regarding patient condition and plan of care • Maintain professionalism and punctuality • Maintain patient and billing records • Complete charts within 3 days of each shift • Review and follow up on incomplete diagnostic tests • Attend meetings and participate in special projects

🎯 Requirements

• 1+ years of emergency medicine/urgent care experience, telemedicine experience, or family practice experience, including the ability to manage adult and pediatric patients • Experience working in both a fast track and main emergency department setting is ideal • Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently evaluating and managing patients and serve as a leader of a team • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Friendly and customer service oriented • Ability to work independently and in a team environment • Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program or an accredited university • Provider must be willing to obtain multiple state licenses as directed by WellNow • Provider must have NY state license at time of employment
