📋 Description

• Lead and drive development of technology and platforms for the company's AI/ML engineering needs • Design architecture and lead implementation of AI/ML infrastructure, platforms, and services • Drive technical vision and strategy for AI/ML infrastructure • Partner with senior engineers, security teams, SRE, solutions architecture, product, engineering, Data Science, and ML Engineering teams • Ensure data security and privacy through encryption and access controls • Integrate the AI/ML platform with products and systems across the company • Evaluate external technologies and vendor services • Create, prioritize, communicate, manage, and execute roadmaps, project plans, and commitments • Report development, quality, operations, and system performance to management and partners • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to engineering teams • Uphold strong DORA metrics and improve security requirements, SLOs, and error budgets • Build an inclusive, productive, innovative, and engaging Risk group • Set measurable, data-driven quality goals • Manage team financial responsibility and accountability for OKRs • Advise senior leadership on complex organizational situations and lead initiatives • Provide strategic thought leadership on business initiatives

🎯 Requirements

• 15–20 years of software design and development experience at large scale • Strong software development skills in a chosen programming language and willingness to learn and program in Java and Python • Experience building supervised and unsupervised machine learning models • Broad understanding of distributed computing frameworks such as Ray and Spark • Demonstrable experience with Kubernetes and Terraform • Broad understanding of cloud architecture tools and services such as S3, EMR, Kubernetes, and Lambda functions • Experience in AWS and Azure highly desirable • Deep hands-on experience in architecture design, development, deployment, and production operation • Familiarity with agile software development and modern development tools and frameworks • Strong engineering principles, automation, quality, and best practices • Extensive end-to-end software development lifecycle experience, including production monitoring • Rich experience and deep expertise in Big Data and large-scale data platforms, especially AI and ML • Highly experienced in CI/CD automation • Experience combining engineering practices with agile development • Experience leading and guiding teams • Excellent analytical skills and ability to identify and resolve complex problems • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong philosophy of continuous improvement • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field • Higher degree in a related field is a plus • Experience in Reinforcement Learning, LLM models, and SageMaker is a plus • Understanding and experience in payment organizations is a plus • Ability to mentor individual contributors across seniority levels and expertise • Ability to encourage visibility and transparency across teams • Ability to operate in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a hands-on approach • Ability to communicate effectively in small and large group formats • Superb stakeholder management and comfort operating in a fast-changing environment
