📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, high-performance web applications • Develop public REST APIs using Python and Node for inter-service and inter-system communication • Implement automated unit, integration, end-to-end, load, and performance testing • Identify bottlenecks and technical debt and drive scalability and stability improvements • Develop and enhance automation frameworks for testing, monitoring, auto-scaling, continuous integration, and deployment • Conduct code reviews and champion engineering best practices • Troubleshoot complex production issues, devise fixes, and author root cause analysis documents • Maintain documentation including design documents, run books, change management documents, and readiness plans • Collaborate with the Sawatch development team and other WEX engineering teams • Develop tools and platforms that help fleets operate efficiently, reduce fraud, and make data-driven procurement decisions

🎯 Requirements

• 5–8 years of professional experience in software engineering • Strong backend development expertise • Proficiency in Python, Node.js, Go or C++ • Experience building and optimizing RESTful APIs and SQL • Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms • Object-oriented design and problem-solving skills • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS/GCP/Azure • Experience with event-driven architecture and tools such as Kafka • Familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases, including SQL and MongoDB • Expertise designing and developing internet-scale services • Understanding of scalability, availability, security, and reliability design principles • Understanding of web security fundamentals, including authentication, authorization, and data protection • Familiarity with Git, automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD workflows • Clear written and verbal communication skills • Collaborative and empathetic mindset
