📋 Description

• Support the Area Dispatch Supervisor in directing the Centralized Dispatch Center/function • Verify checks and balances to ensure all work is covered and dispatcher shifts are monitored • Provide dispatcher coverage for breaks, sick time, and vacation • Manage cross-training and new hire training • Improve operations and implement best practices • Handle escalations using documented processes • Partner with dispatchers and routers to resolve down-route coverage and optimize route efficiency • Ensure all same-day and next-day work is assigned to drivers, considering load type management, customer expectations, landfill requirements, and other factors • Participate in leadership team skill development through role playing • Discuss processes and procedures with routers and dispatchers • Step into scheduled and unscheduled dispatch center absences and execute dispatch roles at an expert level • Serve as a first contact for ongoing training and mentor new hires during onboarding • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D (accredited) • 2 years of previous dispatching experience • Experience in dispatching, routing, or optimizing routes • Strong communication and computer skills preferred • Flexibility to start as early as 2a-6pm EST • Additional or specialized training in transportation, logistics, or similar area of study preferred • Customer service experience in a call-center environment preferred • REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative required, or willingness to obtain one if needed for business air travel or federal property access
