📋 Description

• Conduct multiple, medium-to-large, critical projects and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and health statutes and regulations • Provide technical safety consulting services to internal customers • Recognize, evaluate, and recommend ways to minimize employee injuries and illnesses through hazard identification, accident investigation, audits, ergonomic assessments, and accident-history review • Conduct focused work site and crew observations to identify safety excellence and hazards • Provide annual safety audits and focused self-assessments to evaluate hazard controls and programs • Deliver feedback to business unit management on regulatory compliance • Consult with local safety committees, employees, and management • Assist in safety program development and direction and audit results • Monitor and interpret safety and health rules and regulations and recommend compliance options • Develop training lesson plan content and provide regulatory compliance training, including new-hire orientations and annual OSHA-required training • Maintain professional expertise, attend professional development conferences and seminars, and maintain professional certifications • Participate on task force committees related to regulatory compliance or continuous improvement in safety • Serve as a resource to management and employees on safety regulation interpretation and compliance • Engage and influence management to develop safety responsibility and leadership • Assist site management with contractor safety questions and compliance paperwork • Work with contractor safety consultants during overhauls and projects • Travel throughout Wisconsin, including overnight stays, to support safety coverage for up to 26 hydroelectric generating and maintenance facilities

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge • Recognized safety certification required • Three years of work experience within the safety field • Certified Safety Professional designation (BCSP) preferred • NFPA 70E training • Previous experience with hydroelectric power generation • Experience implementing Human and Organizational Principles • Experience working in a unionized workforce environment • Experience analyzing safety performance metrics and trends • Experience implementing Process Safety Management • Experience developing and conducting electrical LOTO audits • Maintain professional certifications • Knowledge of current safety regulations • Ability to travel regularly, including overnight stays, throughout Wisconsin
