📋 Description

• Manage the performance of the Damage Prevention team and goals of the assigned territory • Hire, develop, retain, interview, and identify candidates for a high-performing team of Damage Prevention Technicians • Document interactions, site information, and utilities in organizational software • Assign and balance workload across the team • Identify and foster team talent • Communicate with clients, engineers, and management to resolve and prevent outages • Manage locating to ensure locates are accurate, complete, and performed on time according to state laws • Develop and manage relationships with construction contractors to prevent cable plant strike damage • Coordinate with Zayo market OSP personnel on relocations, activities presenting cable-plant risks, and strike-damage documentation • Coordinate with OSP and Finance damage-strike cost recovery personnel to maximize third-party and vendor recovery • Collaborate with tools-development personnel and State Damage Prevention Managers on feature enhancements and preventive/predictive best practices • Train and develop Damage Prevention Technicians on tools, OSP inspection skills, strike-damage documentation, and other duties • Identify, develop, and drive process and procedure improvements using root cause analysis • Review daily technician hand-off reports to ensure dispatches, tasks, and maintenance projects are completed on time • Administer performance reviews • Work on call and/or various shifts, including weekends and evenings • Travel as needed • Work outdoors in varied environments, weather conditions, and temperatures • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Must live within 30 minutes of the Miami, FL metro area • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in utility locating and field construction tasks required • Minimum of one (1) year of experience leading a team required • Previous experience in site development, underground installations, utility locating, and fiber optic cable builds required • Ability to maintain eligibility to operate a company-issued vehicle per company policy, including no more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years • Possession of a state-issued driver's license for the state in which you live • High school diploma or equivalent required • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or similar field or equivalent work experience required • Telecom training required • OSHA or other Safety Certifications required • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis • Position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization, including OPT, TN, H1B, or any other type of work visa, now or in the future • Ability to work outdoors in various environments, weather conditions, and temperatures • Ability to work on call and/or various shifts, including weekends and evenings • Ability to travel as needed
