📋 Description

• Represent insureds of a commercial insurance carrier in moderate to high exposure General Liability and Commercial Auto cases • Handle all phases of insurance defense litigation • Conduct initial investigations, legal analysis, and provide legal advice • Evaluate damages • Prepare and file legal pleadings and documents • Perform legal research • Prepare for and conduct pre-trial discovery • Prepare for and handle hearings and trials • Conduct post-trial activities where appropriate • Analyze cases and pursue effective settlements and trial outcomes • Work independently without substantial supervision • Mentor less experienced attorneys • Provide leadership and training across the organization • Practice law in compliance with Federal Courts and Colorado State Bar ethical standards

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor • 7 or more years of experience in the Litigation area • Member in good standing of the Colorado State Bar • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe • Experience working with Lexis or Westlaw • Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims, and insurance defense litigation • Experience handling insurance industry claims and general commercial litigation preferred • Relevant first chair jury trial experience preferred • Ability to budget costs and calculate exposure for clients preferred • Knowledge of billables and diary review preferred • Substantive and procedural legal knowledge • Prior experience in an insurance defense environment preferred • Strong negotiation skills preferred • Effective problem-solving skills preferred • Experience working in a team-based environment preferred • Strong collaboration skills preferred • PC literacy • No employment sponsorship offered
