📋 Description

• Define and implement clean-core extensibility strategies for SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP, choosing in-app, on-stack ABAP Cloud, or side-by-side approaches. • Guide design and development of SAP Fiori/UI5 solutions ensuring consistency, usability, and performance across business-critical processes. • Architect and implement robust integrations and event-driven flows between SAP IS-U, S/4HANA, and external systems. • Enforce engineering excellence: automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, secure coding practices, and compliance standards. • Ensure system performance, monitoring, and optimization for large data volumes and high transaction workloads. • Mentor and coach developers, build expertise in ABAP Cloud and modern SAP practices, and collaborate with functional consultants and client stakeholders. • Shape technical architectures, ensure seamless integrations, and deliver upgrade-safe, scalable solutions that support Utilities business processes.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering on ABAP in SAP S/4HANA. • 5+ years building ABAP Cloud extensions using RAP, CDS, and released APIs in SAP BTP (side by side) and SAP S/4HANA (on-stack). • ABAP Cloud & RAP: behavior definitions and implementations (managed/unmanaged), EML, CDS views/projections, RAP services (OData V4), draft handling, validations, data determination, and reuse libraries. • UI Development: proficiency in SAP Fiori elements/UI5, Smart Controls, annotations, UX consistency, Launchpad configuration (S/4 & BTP), and UI adaptations. • Clean-Core Extensibility: fit-to-standard mindset, released APIs, Cloud BAdIs, Custom Fields & Logic, BDEF-based events; avoiding or mitigating classic modifications. • Integration: experience with OData v2/v4, REST, SOAP, RFC, ALE/IDoc, Event Mesh, API Management, and Integration Flows. • Quality & DevOps: expertise in ATC, ABAP Unit, UI5/QUnit, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, abapGit, gCTS/CTS+, BTP CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps. • Security: understanding of IAM (business roles/IAM apps/PFCG), OAuth2/JWT, ABAP Cloud authorization checks. • Compliance: knowledge of data privacy, Segregation of Duties (SoD), auditability, and document change processes. • Packaging & Deployment: experience with packaging options (including business catalogs) and deployment strategies across cloud environments. • Performance: expertise in SQL Monitor, SAT/SQL Trace/SCI, job scheduling, and memory management. • Nice-to-have: side-by-side extensions on SAP BTP (CAP, SAP HANA Cloud modelling, XSUAA, principal propagation, CF/Kyma basics, Destinations, Connectivity, TMS); domain expertise in Utilities (S/4HANA for Utilities/IS-U) or asset-intensive industries; familiarity with SAP AI services; skills in CDS analytical models and Fiori Analytical & Overview pages; exposure to operations monitoring & tracing with SAP Cloud ALM. • Certifications: SAP Certified Associate – Backend Developer (ABAP Cloud) or SAP Certified Associate – SAP Fiori Application Developer. • Soft/Leadership: ability to mentor, coach, raise engineering standards, pragmatic approach to risk management and scope control, strong communication skills for ADRs and stakeholder collaboration.
