• Manage QPP/CPP files following referral by the Disability Case Specialist, including referrals, applications, follow-ups, appeals, and decisions • Initiate applications and support plan members through the process • Complete follow-ups and ensure processes are completed • Explain benefit offsets and their impact to plan members by phone and in writing • Act as a subject matter expert for QPP and CPP files • Provide guidance on complex cases and emerging government disability program practices • Contribute to knowledge sharing, process enhancements, and operational best practices • Provide file status updates • Determine QPP/CPP retroactive payment amounts • Initiate recovery steps with QPP/CPP • Enter information and apply offsets in relevant systems, ensuring file continuity and calculation accuracy • Communicate with QPP/CPP regarding timelines and decisions • Ensure QPP/CPP receives necessary information and documentation • Process refusal decisions and support insured persons with appeals • Identify opportunities to improve processes, member experience, and operational effectiveness • Participate in innovation, quality, and disability management initiatives
• Post-secondary diploma in administration, insurance, accounting, finance, or another related field • 1-3 years of experience in disability management, group insurance, claims administration, finance, or a related field • Experience in finance or accounting • Professional written and verbal communication skills • Strong organization and prioritization skills • Excellent customer service and telephone skills • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities • Ability to work with minimum supervision • Strong knowledge of government disability benefit programs, including QPP and CPP, or ability to develop expertise quickly • Analytical ability and attention to detail • Ability and confidence in explaining financial concepts • Customer focus and ability to manage multiple priorities • Proficient keyboarding and technical aptitude in Microsoft Office • Experience with an electronic case management system, such as Fineos, considered an asset • Bilingualism (English/French) required
