• Complete classroom, online, and on-the-job technical training • Develop proficiency in installation, preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of Coordinate Measuring Machines and related metrology equipment • Assist senior technicians with installations, customer service calls, preventive maintenance, calibrations, troubleshooting, and repairs • Perform assigned service activities under supervision and within the authorized training scope • Independently complete assigned service activities after required training • Diagnose basic mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, and system-related issues • Escalate complex technical issues to senior technicians or technical support • Inspect equipment and recommend follow-up actions • Provide responsive, solutions-focused customer support • Communicate service findings, equipment status, completed work, and follow-up actions • Manage customer expectations with timely service updates • Represent ZEISS professionally at customer locations • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve customer concerns • Complete service reports, work orders, calibration records, expense reports, and other records • Document equipment conditions, work performed, parts used, concerns, and recommendations • Maintain company-system records and submit expenses on time • Protect confidential customer and company information • Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment, spare parts, and consumables • Manage spare-parts and consumables inventory and maintain inventory records • Coordinate with service, deployment, receiving, and warehouse teams • Follow health and safety requirements, quality standards, security protocols, and service procedures • Comply with customer-site safety requirements and use personal protective equipment • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area • Report hazards, damaged equipment, and unsafe conditions • Operate company vehicles and material-handling equipment safely • Perform other related duties as assigned
• College diploma or university degree in electronics, electromechanical engineering technology, industrial mechanics, mechatronics, or a related technical discipline • An equivalent combination of relevant technical training and practical work experience may be considered • Previous experience installing, maintaining, repairing, or troubleshooting industrial electronics, mechanical equipment, machinery, or computer-controlled systems is preferred • Experience with CMMs, precision measurement systems, or industrial metrology equipment is considered an asset • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems is required • Previous customer-service or field-service experience is considered an asset • Strong mechanical, electrical, electronic, and computer aptitude • Ability to learn technical concepts, equipment, software, and service procedures • Basic diagnostic, analytical, and troubleshooting skills • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, drawings, and instructions • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally • Strong customer-service and relationship-building skills • Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills • Ability to complete accurate service and expense documentation • Ability to manage multiple assignments and changing priorities • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced service environment • Ability to work independently after completing the required training • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior technicians and other internal teams • Professional, dependable, and solutions-focused approach • Commitment to workplace safety, service quality, and continuous learning • Microsoft operating system knowledge is required
