📋 Description

• Find top engineers in India through personal networks, leading universities and their computer science and engineering departments, and local engineering communities • Write personal, specific outreach to prospective candidates • Calibrate with the team on hiring criteria using resumes of strong Indian engineers already hired • Run the first screen with every candidate and pass the strongest candidates to the engineering team • Build and maintain a talent map of India's strongest engineers, including their programs, classes and current companies • Keep candidates moving through the process in Ashby • Report the recruiting funnel weekly, including outreach, replies, screens, pass-through rates and hires • Use AI tools for sourcing, research and outreach and turn effective methods into repeatable workflows • Improve the engineer experience across job posts, interviews and offers • Share insights about the Indian engineering market, including pay expectations, competing offers and effective channels • Report directly to the Chief of Staff

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of technical recruiting or sourcing in India's tech industry, in-house or at an agency • A strong network in India's engineering community, including the universities, their computer science and engineering faculties, student groups and alumni • Strong sourcing skills, including finding engineers who aren't on job boards and getting them to reply • Technical literacy sufficient to read a GitHub profile, ask screening questions and distinguish strong engineers from keyword matches • Knowledge of AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor • Excellent written and spoken English • Experience with an applicant tracking system such as Ashby, Greenhouse or Lever • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter • Heavy daily use of AI tools in recruiting work • High agency and ownership; ability to run own pipeline without management • Based in India • Nice to have: studied computer science or engineering at a top Indian university, or close ties to one • Nice to have: experience recruiting engineers for US startups • Nice to have: recruiting for AI, machine learning or developer-tools companies • Nice to have: experience running university recruiting, hackathons or engineering community events • Responsible for own taxes and registration as an independent contractor
