📋 Description

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting transactions • Maintain accurate general ledger records and perform regular account reconciliations • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, supplier payments and customer follow-ups • Complete bank and credit card reconciliations • Support payroll processing, including checking timesheets, allowances, overtime and other payroll-related information • Assist with BAS, GST, PAYG, superannuation and other Australian compliance requirements • Prepare monthly financial reports, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and cash flow reporting • Monitor business expenses, outstanding receivables and cash flow • Assist management with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis • Maintain accurate records for suppliers, contractors, employees and business expenses • Support project and job costing to help management understand profitability across projects and services • Review financial transactions and identify discrepancies or areas requiring investigation • Liaise with external accountants, bookkeepers, suppliers and other stakeholders as required • Maintain organised financial documentation and ensure records are audit-ready • Assist with improving accounting processes, controls and reporting as the business continues to grow

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years' experience in accounting, bookkeeping or a similar finance role • Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and general ledger accounting • Experience supporting payroll and Australian accounting processes • Understanding of GST, BAS, PAYG and superannuation requirements • Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or similar • Strong Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills • Experience with job costing or project-based accounting would be highly regarded • Experience supporting a construction, civil, labour hire, traffic management or similar operational business would be advantageous • High attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy • Strong organisational and time-management skills • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
