📋 Description

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team • Lead engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems and support the team throughout delivery • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle • Participate in ideation, articulate technical constraints, and partner on risk and trade-off decisions • Identify, advocate for, and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues • Operate and maintain team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting keep-the-lights-on and on-call efforts • Establish and improve code review and design standards and advocate for them through writing and tech talks • Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example • Design, develop, launch, and operate backend systems and asynchronous workloads for the Recoveries platform • Manage loans through the final phase of their lifecycle and develop and implement recovery strategies

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer • Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale • Experience with technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes • Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue • Experience designing, implementing, and operating batch processing or asynchronous workloads, including scheduled jobs, backfills, and large-scale data processing • Strong focus on correctness, observability, and failure handling • Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components with elegant, simple, and extensible designs • Ability to write high-quality, understandable, reusable code • Proficiency making significant changes in a large codebase safely • Experience developing tools and practices that support safe large-scale codebase changes • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team
