📋 Description

• Design and build the double-entry ledger and money-movement engine that all transactions reconcile against • Model complex financial workflows as robust, observable state machines running reliably over long periods • Guarantee financial correctness under concurrency through idempotent operations, transactional integrity, and exact reconciliation • Handle partial failures and replay cases so events are not lost, duplicated, or applied twice • Build secure, well-versioned APIs • Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and data models • Debug production issues and own the reliability of mission-critical financial workflows

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development on production systems • Demonstrated experience building correct money-movement systems such as ledgers, settlement systems, payment cores, or transaction-processing systems • Experience handling double-processing, balance race conditions, concurrency, idempotency, and replay • Experience building or owning exact reconciliation systems • Strong test-driven development practices and comprehensive test coverage • Domain-Driven Design expertise • Deep PostgreSQL knowledge, including schema design, transactions, isolation levels, and optimization • Strong proficiency in a modern backend stack, with depth in TypeScript/Node.js, Go, or the JVM ecosystem and ability to learn another • Cloud deployment experience • Comfort with ambiguity, high autonomy, and driving solutions without detailed specifications • Nice to have: payments, banking, brokerage, or investment-platform systems experience • Nice to have: securities, custody, or portfolio/NAV domain knowledge • Nice to have: event-driven architectures and message queues • Nice to have: Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or CloudFormation • Nice to have: KYC/AML or compliance-framework knowledge • Nice to have: accounting principles or financial modeling
