📋 Description

• Lead a cohesive team of engineers building the next evolution of Beyond’s revenue management products for short-term rentals • Run weekly 1:1s, remove blockers, and mentor engineers on technical craft and career growth • Establish career growth objectives, leveling expectations, and continuous feedback • Review code, design documents, tests, and CI/CD changes • Pair on difficult problems, respond to incidents, debug production issues, write code, and support responsible AI-tool use • Drive architectural, tooling, and technical roadmap decisions • Collaborate with product, design, and customer-facing teams to connect technical work to revenue, retention, customer experience, and operational efficiency • Plan and allocate engineering capacity against quarterly OKRs • Champion trunk-based development, CI/CD, risk-based testing, feature flags, observability, pairing, code reviews, and collective code ownership • Contribute to new products and maintain the existing codebase as needed • Facilitate conversations with external stakeholders • Contribute to the codebase 50% and manage the team 50% of the time

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience shipping and operating products in production • 5+ years of engineering management experience in a startup, distributed environment • Experience hiring, growing, and retaining engineers with 8 to 10 direct reports • Comfortable reading, reviewing, and writing code in the team’s stack • Willing to continue coding as a manager • Comfortable using AI-assisted engineering tools while preserving engineering judgment, security, and code quality • Track record of improving team performance with CI/CD, risk-based testing, observability, execution planning, tracking, and data-based reporting • Fluency in English
